Demons End of Term Review and Stephen Jones Departure

Firstly, I would like to offer my apologies for the lack of match updates and general maintenance of the website, turns out your Third Year at Uni is actually a fair amount of work. The club are saddened to announce the departure of Head Coach Stephen Jones midway through the season. His departure has nothing to do with results or performance, it is an internal issue which of course shall not be discussed over the internet. Ian Chown will be interim HC for the rest of the season. A new HC will not…Read more

Exeter Demons @ Swansea Titans Match Report

A week after the Demons impressive victory over Aberystwyth Tarranau, we headed up to face our divisional rivals Swansea Titans, a thorn in our side over recent seasons. Swansea dashed our playoff hopes last season and the season prior defeated us in the semi-finals of the BUCS trophy. A tough, physical fixture was to be expected. On the first drive of the game, Demons linebacker Kean Harris found himself on the bottom of a pile of players and required spinal injury treatment which delayed the game for almost an hour. Thankfully Kean has…Read more

Exeter Demons vs Aberystwyth Tarannau Match Report

On 31st October, the Exeter Demons welcomed Aberystwyth Tarannau down at the fortress that is Duckes Meadow. After a long and successful preseason campaign, the Demons came into the game confident but acknowledged that Tarannau would be tough opposition after their extremely successful endeavours last season, as any team with an 8-0 record should be. The fixture was a tough contest, with the run game featuring predominantly for both teams despite the favourable conditions and green grass on the pitch for a change. The Exeter Demons got off to a fantastic start with…Read more

Match Report from Filton Scrimmage

The Exeter Demons matched up against Filton Pride for a friendly scrimmage underneath the Friday Night Lights. The first proper run through for freshers to the club and a chance to dust off some cobwebs for our returners after our very successful 6-2 season. The scrimmage allowed coaches to explore our new plays and roster depth against a well organised, athletic opposition. The first quarter was a tight affair with neither team registering a score, but the second quarter saw both teams convert opportunities with Will Straughan returning to the Demons with his…Read more

The Exeter Demons have made it through to the quarter-finals of the BUCS American Football Challenge Trophy (plate competition) with a 29-28 victory over the defending champion NTU Renegades.   Exeter took a 7-0 lead into halftime, and the two teams traded scores over the second half.
