The Exeter Demons have made it through to the quarter-finals of the BUCS American Football Challenge Trophy (plate competition) with a 29-28 victory over the defending champion NTU Renegades.

Exeter took a 7-0 lead into halftime, and the two teams traded scores over the second half. Renegades running back Adam Hope put on a stellar performance, scoring what looked to be a clinching touchdown with 33 seconds left on the game clock. NTU lined up for a two point conversion, and failed to convert. Exeter then drove back the length of the field, with Charlie Hall receiving a touchdown pass from QB Finlay Brown as the clock hit zero. President Ollie Tribe converted the 1-point attempt to win the game, and Exeter now face a long trip north to face Leeds Carnegie next Sunday.
